Lightwave 1

There are two versions of this week’s Lightwave class, the short version and the long version.

The short version ran a little something like this, welcome back, here is some new people to introduce and here is some work to do.

The long version goes for about 3 hours and is in real time, and seeing as I already lived through it I'm not going to put write that down.

Today we started on the 3D program Lightwave, it comes in two parts a modelling section and a filming section. It is one of the most complex programs I have seen, with the use of both mouse buttons and case sensitive hotkeys.

So far I can see a vast opportunity to make some real stuff ups, the main thing to remember is after finishing with a tool to press spacebar otherwise the last shape will stretch to where the mouse last clicked.

Assessment project 1 is to make a surreal kitchen; it only has to be surreal so we do not get too stressed out about the fine details. So far the best idea I've got is a zebra skin teapot I'm sure things will improve as I learn more of the program.

Seeing as I've nothing more productive to write on the subject today I am signing out catch you next time folks

Nice start the semester there Eric, don't stress the application while it has a steep learning curve, will eventually make a lot of sense, btw, who's Gaz?

Gaz is a friend of my brother who has used Lightwave before.
